Energy Reduction Program

IT’S TIME TO TAKE CONTROL OF YOUR ENERGY BILL!

It starts with a no cost home energy assessment! The assessment, also referred to as an energy audit, provides you with a top-to-bottom look at where your home is wasting energy. You will learn the root cause of any drafts, inconsistent temperatures, heating and cooling system failures, or other problems you may be experiencing.

What should you expect?

During the initial visit, we will evaluate your electricity use and costs and may provide some minor improvements (such as filters, weather stripping, door sweeps, etc.) at no cost to you. Depending on your energy use, we will also evaluate the need for additional measures to reduce your heating costs.

Examples include:
  • Evaluate your heating system and identify opportunities for clean heat alternatives.
  • Assess the insulation levels in the home
  • Measure the air leakage in the home, using a blower door test.
  • Check for gas leaks The home energy assessment lasts 2-3 hours and identifies areas where energy efficiency, comfort and safety upgrades can be made.

Finger Lakes Comfort takes a "whole house" approach:

We will look at how your house is heated, how well it keeps the heat in, how electricity is used, and your daily activity.
